Midweek in Denver: Tonight & Tomorrow (July 8)

The best of Wednesday and Thursday in Denver — shows, socials, and reasons the weekend can wait.

The weekend is a rumor at this point — a nice idea someone had once. Tonight and tomorrow are stacked with the kind of nights you'll actually talk about at brunch, so let's stop pretending Friday has a monopoly on fun.

Red Rocks alone is doing double duty this week, and the honky-tonks and trivia halls aren't exactly slowing down either. Here's where to be.

Tonight

Eric Church — 7:30pm, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The Chief and The Creekers under the stars — this is the one your group chat will be jealous you didn't skip.

Streetlight Manifesto — 8pm, Mission Ballroom. Ska-punk legends, a room built for jumping around, zero reason to save this energy for the weekend.

Gathr — Grizzly Rose Line Dancing Night — 6:30pm, Grizzly Rose. Free lesson, no cliques, boot-scoot first and board games later — the most fun you'll have feeling uncoordinated.

Denver Boardgame Night — Wednesday Brewery Games — 6:30pm, 4 Noses Park Hill. A 12-year Wednesday institution — beginners and rules lawyers share a table and everybody's happy.

HTB Run Club — 6:30pm, Highland Tap & Burger. Earn the dinner and drink specials first — this is cardio with a built-in reward system.

Denver Night Life — Pickleball Social & Free Salsa Fridays — 5pm, Southpark Pickleball Complex. 17,000 members strong and all-levels welcome — paddle up, then keep the crew in mind for salsa night later this week.

Tomorrow

Sam Barber — 7pm, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Barber with Waylon Wyatt and Wild Horses — a second big night at the rocks, no lines at the door this early in the week.

Bouncing Souls — 7pm, Ogden Theatre. Punk vets who still bring the room to a full sweat — go early, leave loud.

Rattlesnake Milk — 8pm, Bluebird Theatre. A smaller room, a name you'll want bragging rights on before they're playing bigger stages.

Geeks Who Drink Trivia at Denver Milk Market — 7pm, Denver Milk Market. $10 pizzas, $10 drinks, a genuinely tough quiz — bring your smartest friend and split the win.

L'Apero de Denver French Happy Hour — 7pm, rotating Denver patios. Effortlessly cool standing happy hour that moves around the city's best wine bars — get on the list.

Colorado Harriers — Tempo Thursday — 6:30pm, Denver Beer Company. A tempo run that ends in BOGO beers — the most honest trade in this whole newsletter.

More where that came from at /events.
