Oakwell Beer Spa: Denver's Most Unique Date Night (or Self-Care Day)

A beer bath, a sauna, and a zero-gravity massage walk into a spa. This is that spa.

You can soak in a tub of beer in Denver. Here's why you should.

It sounds like a gimmick. It's not. Oakwell Beer Spa on Downing Street is a genuinely good time, and once you're sitting in a cedar tub filled with warm, bubbling water infused with hops, barley, and seasonal herbs, the concept stops feeling weird and starts feeling obvious.

This is the kind of place that works for a lot of different situations. Date night that's actually different from dinner and drinks. A birthday treat for a friend who deserves more than a gift card. A slow Saturday morning with someone you want to spend real time with. It also lands well as a gift - they sell gift cards and packages you can buy and let the recipient book on their own time.

Here's what the experience actually looks like, and why it's worth booking.

The Beer Spa Experience

Oakwell Beer Spa

You get a private suite - no shared spaces, no strangers nearby. Inside, there's an infrared sauna, a rain shower, and the cedar hydrotherapy tub. The flow most people follow is sauna first to open up and sweat a little, cold shower to reset, then into the beer bath for a long soak. The whole private suite session runs 90 minutes. It moves at your pace.

The beer bath itself is warm, bubbly water steeped with hops, barley, and a rotating blend of medicinal herbs. You can bring a drink in with you - and yes, they have non-alcoholic options if beer isn't your thing. The taproom out front runs a rotating selection of Colorado craft beers alongside cider, wine, kombucha, and non-alcoholic beverages. No one's pressuring you to drink. It's genuinely welcoming to everyone.

After the suite, you can add a zero-gravity massage in the Relaxation Lounge. The chairs use NASA-inspired technology to recline you into a legs-above-heart position while delivering a full-body massage. You pick 15 or 30 minutes. It's a solid way to finish. If you want the full package - suite, soak, massage, plus candles, rose petals, charcuterie, and artisan chocolate bonbons - that's the Oakwell Escape, which is their most popular couples option.

The place is at 3004 N Downing St, Denver, CO 80205. It's open seven days a week, 8am to 10:30pm. Packages start at $99. Book ahead - it fills up, especially on weekends. Find it in the directory listing for Oakwell Beer Spa.

Who This Is For

Honestly, it's for most people. Couples looking for a date that isn't just another restaurant. Friends who want to do something more memorable than happy hour. People who want to give someone a genuinely good gift. It works solo too if you just need a few quiet hours to decompress.

The private suites hold up to two people for most packages, so it's naturally intimate without feeling forced. The vibe inside is calm - not loud, not a party. You can talk or you can just sit in warm water and not say anything. Both are fine.

Practical Notes

  • Book ahead. It gets booked up fast, especially Friday through Sunday. Give yourself a few days of lead time at minimum.
  • Non-drinkers are covered. The taproom has non-alcoholic beers, kombucha, herbal tea, and other options. You won't feel left out.
  • Mimosas and more. Some packages include a welcome drink - confirm what's included when you book. Additional beverages are sold separately.
  • Parking. There's a large lot at the corner of 31st Ave and Marion St, plus unmetered street parking on Downing St and 30th Ave.
  • Gift cards. You can buy a gift card for any amount and let the recipient choose their own date and time.
  • Gratuity. A 20% gratuity is automatically added at checkout.
